Injuries and Death in AC Fire A 2-year-old girl is one of two people killed when fire broke out at a townhouse in Atlantic City.

The identities of the child and a woman have not been released.

Two police officers and a firefighter suffered minor injuries attempting rescues.

Fire officials said the blaze erupted about 3:30 Monday afternoon in the two-story Drexel Avenue duplex.

The dwellings on both sides were occupied at the time. Flames sent occupants of the left side scrambling out a first-floor window. The duplex was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived.

Officials said the victims' bodies were found in a front bedroom on the second floor.

Neighbors identified the woman was the 2-year-old's grandmother.
