NJ Gas Prices Lowest

Average gasoline prices in New Jersey are the lowest in the nation.

AAA New Jersey Automobile Club based that conclusion on data from Oil Price Information Service.

AAA said the average price for regular in the Garden State is $1.65, about $0.15 lower than the national average.

It's also $0.53 cheaper than California, where regular is selling for $2.18 per gallon.

The automobile club attributes prices in New Jersey to the state's proximity to refineries and low gasoline taxes.

The average price of regular in the Garden State has risen $0.03 from one month ago.
