Woman Missing After Fire Authorities were searching for a woman who was missing after a three-alarm fire in southern New Jersey.

The blaze broke out Sunday afternoon at an apartment building in Salem County, fire officials said. A 27-year-old woman was missing and another woman was burned over 60 percent of her body.

The roof of the building, which was home to seven families, completely collapsed as a result of the fire.

Police were first on the scene, and a police officer kicked in a door and saved the injured woman's life, authorities said.

But authorities still could not find the other resident Sunday evening.

"We looked seven times, we removed every bit of debris out of that apartment," Penns Grove Fire Chief Joe Drasso said of the missing woman.

One officer and at least one firefighter were treated for smoke inhalation, officials said.

At one point, six blocks around the home had power knocked out because of the fire.

The state police arson unit was investigating.
