New Fence Erected on Route 38 New Jersey Department of Transportation officials have put up a new fence along the median of Route 38 in Cherry Hill.

They are hoping the fence will prevent people from crossing the highway.

It has been a popular shortcut for many people trying to get to the Cherry Hill Mall. Many people have been also been hit while trying to cross.

Last month a 13-year-old boy lost his life crossing Route 38. Wayne Jackson was struck by two cars and killed.

There was a pedestrian bridge in the area but it was taken down in 1999 after a garbage truck crashed into it.

Officials are hoping to soon add a crosswalk and a pedestrian circle nearby to help people cross the highway safely.
