3 NJ Congressmen Got Flu Shots At least three members of Congress from New Jersey have gotten flu shots.

Sen. Frank Lautenberg, Rep. Steve Rothman, and Rep. Frank LoBiondo said that they were inoculated before the nationwide shortage was announced. Rothman is 52, LoBiondo is 58 and Lautenberg is 80.

Lautenberg demanded Wednesday that the Bush administration declare a national emergency.

Word that some members of Congress have gotten flu shots despite the shortage doesn't surprise some Americans.

Kathy Johnson of Bloomfield, N.J., where there's a lottery for the shots, said she expected lawmakers to grab scarce vaccines. She said,"They get everything they want and we're just the little peons that work for them."

That sentiment is shared by fellow Bloomfield resident Ed Novak. He said lawmakers always take care of themselves first.
