Security Guard Spy A South Jersey school security guard has been fired for allegedly using surveillance cameras to spy on cheerleaders.

The new Ocean City High School is equipped with 60 surveillance cameras.

School officials claim Dean Spencer used some cameras to spy on cheerleaders while they were practicing in the cafeteria.

School administrators won't release specifics of what was viewed or recorded.

Spencer told NBC 10 that he has no comment on the issue but that he plans to fight the claim.

School officials said that they want to watch out for the safety of their students.

"I hate any time that any of our students are compromised. I can't stand it," said school superintendent Dr. Donald Dearborn. "I can't tolerate it and I will not tolerate it."

Spencer is a retired police officer from Upper Township, Cape May County.
