J. Lohr 1998 Seven Oaks Cabernet Sauvignon

by Robert Whitley | Nov 15, 2000
J. Lohr 1998 Seven Oaks Cabernet Sauvignon, Paso Robles ($15), might convince some that `98 was actually a better vintage than it was for red wines. The Seven Oaks doesn`t lack for color or body and is an excellent example of gifted winemaking following a difficult vintage. Dark berry and cassis aromas dominate the nose, the palate is expansive and the tannins are smooth and supple. Beautifully done.
