Phillies Sign Chen – Again

by 6 ABC - Action News (AP) | Mar 2, 2001
Phillies Sign Chen – Again Chen`s contract is for a reported $300,000, $170,000 in the unlikely event that he is sent to the minors. In 15 games for the Phillies last summer, Chen compiled a 7-and-4 record with a 3.29 ERA and likely earned one of the top pitching spots on the team. He was 4-and-0 with a two-point-five ERA with Atlanta before being traded midseason to Philadelphia for Andy Ashby.

Now that Chen is signed, the only unsigned players on the Phillies` 40-man roster are pitcher Randy Wolf and catcher Gary Bennett.
