Phillies Win In 12

The Milwaukee second baseman misplayed Scott Rolen`s bases-loaded grounder in the 12th inning Thursday night, allowing Doug Glanville to score as the Phillies won 2-1.
"It was an easy double-play ball," Belliard said. "It hit my glove and bounced out. He hit it hard but I let the team down a little bit."
Glanville singled off Mike DeJean (2-1) with one out and took third on Jimmy Rollins` double down the left-field line. Bobby Abreu was intentionally walked and Rolen hit a sharp grounder up the middle.
"It had some top spin on it," Phillies manager Larry Bowa said. "We got a break and we will take it."
Milwaukee knew it should have been out of the inning.
"That`s a little more difficult to swallow, to lose it on a play that`s expected to be made 99 out of 100 times," Milwaukee manager Davey Lopes said. "We should still be playing 1-1."
Philadelphia stopped its three-game losing streak and Milwaukee`s five-game winning streak.
The Phillies` bullpen pitched five scoreless innings, giving up just one hit – off Wayne Gomes (3-1) in the 12th. At one point, 16 straight Brewers failed to reach base.
"The bullpen was awesome tonight," Phillies starter Randy Wolf said. "They got us the win."
Milwaukee starter Paul Rigdon allowed one run and four hits in six innings. Wolf tied a season-high with 10 strikeouts – six called – giving up one run and five hits in seven innings. Wolf now has 29 strikeouts in his last three starts.
"He`s really gotten into a good rhythm," Phillies catcher Gary Bennett said. "He had good command tonight is locating his pitches well."
Jeromy Burnitz hit an RBI double in the sixth that just cleared the outstretched glove of left fielder Brian Hunter.
Hunter had an RBI single in the bottom half following Rolen`s two-out double.
With two on and one out in the ninth, Bennett hit a hard liner off David Weathers that was caught by left fielder Devon White and pinch-hitter Rob Ducey grounded out.
