Pushing Forward

With the threat of the coronavirus pandemic still lingering, New Jersey moves toward the next phases of its recovery.

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to be the world’s hottest topic of discussion, there have been some encouraging developments in recent weeks. The burden on the health care system has been lessened dramatically and major pharmaceutical companies are working in an expedited manner to develop therapeutics and a vaccine in hopes of creating a solid defense against future outbreaks. Additionally, more businesses have started to reopen their doors and adapt to the current situation while residents begin to once again enjoy the simple pleasures in life like taking a stroll in the park or planting their beach chair in the sand.

But, there’s still a lot of work to be done to be able to put this crisis firmly in the rearview mirror. And so, in our latest edition of our ongoing coronavirus series we wanted to take a closer look at how things are progressing with an eye toward the brighter days ahead. We spoke to Gov. Phil Murphy to get the view from the Statehouse and to learn the reasoning behind some of his more highly scrutinized decisions. We also traveled down the Shore, from LBI to Cape May, to see how this summer is shaping up to be unlike any we’ve ever known. You’ll also see our special salute to the local health care heroes working around the clock to keep us safe and find out how the pandemic has altered several professions from dentistry to home improvement.
