Soup`s On for Donovan McNabb Philadelphia Eagles star quarterback Donovan McNabb is the latest NFL player to sign with Campbell Soup Co. for the Chunky soup "Mama`s boys" advertising campaign, the company said Monday.

McNabb will join Kurt Warner of the St. Louis Rams in television, radio and print ads scheduled to debut Sept. 9 – the same day the two will face off in a season-opening game in Philadelphia. The ad campaign will continue through the NFL season. "The Chunky soup campaign joins two American icons – Campbell and the NFL," Jeremy Fingerman, vice president of Campbell`s U.S. soup division, said in a prepared statement Monday. "Donovan McNabb and Kurt Warner represent the best of the NFL, making their alliance with the Chunky brand very powerful."

Playing in only his second season, McNabb led the Eagles in the 2000-2001 season to their greatest turnaround in franchise history with an 11-5 record and their first playoff appearance since 1996.

He earned his first Pro-Bowl appearance, filling in for the injured Warner.

Warner also appeared in Chunky soup ads during the 2000-2001 season, as did Terrell Davis.

NFL stars Reggie White, John Elway and Neil Smith have been featured in past Chunky soup "Mama`s boys" advertising campaigns, in which mothers make sure their football-star sons get enough to eat.

Campbell also announced Monday that it will introduce a new line of Chunky Home Style Classic soups in October to capitalize on the growing demand for "comfort foods." The three new varieties will be Seasoned Beef Rib Roast with Potatoes and Herbs, Salisbury Steak with Mushrooms and Onions and Chicken and Dumplings.

Campbell, which has 24,000 employees worldwide, sells brands including Godiva Chocolates, Pepperidge Farm "Goldfish" and cookies, and Swanson broths.
