A Lasting Impression
The Albert Carino Basketball Clubs of South Jersey have announced eight selections into the South Jersey Basketball Hall of Fame. The induction is Feb. 2 at the Holiday Inn, Route 70, Cherry Hill.
Here are the new HOF members
Dave Allen, Cherry Hill East
A basketball player at Cherry Hill East and then Arcadia University, Allen has become one of the most successful coaches in South Jersey history. Currently the head coach at East, he recently won his 400th career game in a coaching career that also included stints at Eastern and Cherry Hill West. He has guided his teams to six South Jersey Group 4 championship appearances, two South Jersey Group 4 titles, one NJSIAA state final appearance and three Olympic Conference championships.
Jeanine Reynolds Delaney, Washington Township
A 1985 graduate, Reynolds Delaney was an All-South Jersey player her final two seasons and All-State as a senior in 1985. She then played collegiately at St. Joseph’s University, where she was captain her senior year. Reynolds Delaney then played Division I basketball at St. Joseph’s University, where she was team captain as a senior. As a college assistant coach at James Madison the highlight was the 1992 season when the Dukes upset No. 1 Penn State to advance to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament. Janine is currently the head girls’ basketball coach at Kingsway. She is already a member of the Washington Township and Gloucester County Hall of Fames.
Greg Goodwin, Millville
Goodwin is being inducted posthumously after passing away at the age of 63 following a year-long battle with pancreatic cancer. He had success coaching both boys’ and girls’ basketball. Goodwin was the head boys’ coach at St. James, Millville and Absegami. He had his greatest success coaching girls’ basketball Absegami, guiding the Braves to consecutive state titles in 2005 and 2006 and five South Jersey crowns. He was 227-54 as Absegami’s girls’ basketball coach.
Kyle Hines, Timber Creek
Hines, a 2004 graduate of Timber Creek, was a first-team All-South Jersey performer twice and a three-time All-Group 3 and All-Conference selection. He enjoyed a stellar playing career at North Carolina-Greensboro where he was named the Southern Conference Player of the Year as a senior in 2007. Hines is one of only six players in NCAA history to finish his career with 2,000 points, 1,000 rebounds and 300 blocks. UNCG retired his number in 2008. After college he enjoyed a long professional career in Europe and is currently a member of the Brooklyn Nets coaching staff as a player development assistant.
Sherie Androlewicz Mischler, Paul VI
In her two seasons as a starter at Paul VI, Androlewicz Mischler led the Eagles to deep postseason runs. She averaged 13.9 points as a junior as the Paul VI advanced to the South Jersey Parochial A title game before falling to Bishop Eustace. She was named first-team all-South Jersey Parochial.
As a senior she averaged 13.5 points for a Paul VI team that won the South Jersey Parochial A title before falling to Paramus Catholic in the state title game. Paul VI was the consensus No. 1 team in South Jersey, finishing 26-3. Androlewicz Mischler was first-team All-South Jersey as a senior. At Lehigh she was a four-year starter and three-year captain. As a senior she was selected first-team All-East Coast Conference and was the ECC Player of the Year. At Lehigh Sherie totaled 1,699 points and 581 assists. She was the first female athlete in the history of Lehigh University to have her number retired.
Doug Stewart, Haddonfield
Stewart scored 1,288 career points at Haddonfield and helped the Bulldogs win the 1989 Group 2 state championship. He was a first-team All-South Jersey selection as a senior. He continued his career at Brown University, where Stewart was team captain as a senior. After college he was player-coach for the Washington Generals, the team that always falls short while competing against the Harlem Globetrotters. He has been a college basketball assistant coach at Brown, Oregon State, Tulane and Nevada. He was also an assistant for the 76ers G-League team, the Delaware 87ers. Stewart is in his first season as chief of staff for the Brigham Young University basketball program.
Ryan Thompson, Lenape
As a sophomore in 2004, Thompson helped lead Lenape to a 28-1 record and state Group 4 championship. He was a first-team All-South Jersey selection as a senior. At Rider he scored 1,879 career points and still holds the program record with 188 career steals. After graduating from Rider in 2010, he embarked on a professional career in Europe. Since 2021 he has served as an assistant men’s basketball coach at Rowan.

Cynthia Wilks, Bridgeton
A 2000 graduate of Bridgeton, Wilks starred in soccer, basketball and track. She was a three-time all-conference selection in basketball. She scored 1,239 career points. Wilks enjoyed an outstanding college career at VCU, where as a senior she was Colonial Conference Player of the Year in 2004 after averaging 23.9 points. She is now in her 14th year as Bridgeton’s Supervisor of Athletics.
