Former Delsea Baseball Coach Vince Londino Moving To The College Ranks
Vince Londino is hoping to take the success he had at Delsa to his new job as head baseball coach of Rowan College South Jersey – Cumberland.
Londino was an assistant for Delsea for five seasons before being named head coach in 2025. Delsea went 21-5 and won the Tri-County Conference Liberty Division during his first season.
This past year, Delsea went 20-7 and won the South Jersey Group 3 championship. The Crusaders also shared the Liberty Division title with Cumberland.
“Coaching college has always been a dream of mine and I thought this was a great opportunity,” Londino said. “People I have talked to say it is a really good situation, and I am excited to get started.”
RCSJ-Cumberland is a Division III junior college, meaning it doesn’t award scholarships.
The Dukes have a strong baseball tradition. This past year they went 31-13 and were ranked as high as No. 6 nationally.
Formerly known as Cumberland County College, the Dukes won the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division III World Series championship in 2019.
Ironically, Cumberland beat Rowan College of South Jersey – Gloucester in the national championship.
Both teams compete in highly competitive Region 19. Gloucester has maintained its standings as a national power. The Roadrunners won three consecutive World Series championships before finishing runner-up this past season.
Under Rob Valli, RCSJ-Gloucester has set the standard of excellence. Now Londino hopes that RCSJ-Cumberland can reach that level.
“We’ve got to climb that ladder,” he said about competing yearly with RCSJ-Gloucester.
Another Region 19 team that Londino looks forward to competing against is Camden County College, coached by John Scanzano.
“Coach Valli is a legend and coach Scanzano is a good friend of mine and it will be great to compete against them because I respect them both immensely,” said Londino, who this summer has coached a team of rising high school seniors in travel ball at Scanzano Combat.
The No. 1 priority for Londino is to hit the road recruiting. The day he was named head coach he began talking to prospective recruits, using his contacts as a high school and travel ball coach.
One advantage he has is that he has contacts in many states, but Londino understands that his own backyard of South Jersey provides such a solid recruiting base.
“I travel with the Combat team to a lot of areas, and I know South Jersey is a hotbed for talent,” said Londino, the owner of Mid-Atlantic Contractor Group LLC. “I would love to keep the majority of talent local because I know what type of talent is produced in South Jersey.”
Londino is a 2003 graduate of Gloucester High where he was a standout football and baseball player.
He was an assistant coach at Gloucester Catholic from 2015-2019, with the Rams winning two state titles.
Londino then went to went to Delsea as an assistant before being named varsity coach prior to the 2025 season.
He’s leaving Delsea in good shape.
“Delsea has a great senior class returning and I am excited for them this year,” he said.
Now, he’s even more excited about running his own college program.
