Big story entering the season: Haddon Heights’ pitcher-designated player Sophia Bordi, among the best players in South Jersey history, decided to bypass her senior season and enroll early at the University of Oklahoma.
Bordi, who helped lead Haddon Heights to the final Tournament of Champions title in 2023, finished with 23 home runs and a .384 career average in her three seasons with the Garnets. As a pitcher she had a 0.52 career ERA in 266 2/3 career innings, with 605 strikeouts. What is more impressive is that she accomplished most of this in two seasons as she was limited by injury last year.
Player to Watch: Hannah Weismer, Kingsway Sr. 3B. Opposing teams may want to move the fences back when facing Weismer. Last season she hit 13 home runs and now has 25 in her first three seasons. She is more than just a home run hitter. Weisner batted .474 last year and added 10 doubles and a triple, along with 33 RBI.
She enters the season with 99 career RBI and 113 hits. Weisner will continue her career and education at the University of Virginia.
