NASHUA SQUEAKS PAST SURF

The Surf are now two games behind the first place Somerset Patriots, following the Patriots victory over Newark, 6-3, also Saturday night at Somerset. Down 6-2 going into the fifth inning, the Surf put together five unanswered runs to take back the lead.
The designated hitter Danny Perez tied the game up with a solo homer (6). Tim Dockery then drove in Keith Gordon on a line drive single up the middle to put the Surf up 7-6 after six innings.
The Surf`s lead dissipated just as quickly as it was gained, as the Pride exploded for five runs in the top of the seventh inning. An RBI single by Jose Malave, a wild pitch, a sacrifice fly, and a powerful two-run homer by Damian Sapp put Nashua up 11-7.
The Surf struck back once again as Will Pennyfeather hit a monster three-run home run, his second homer of the game, to bring the Surf within one run.
Nashua closer Ned Darley shut down the Surf in the ninth inning to pick up his ninth save.
The Surf and the Pride continue their series Sunday night, 7:05 PM, at the Sandcastle.
