South Jersey Football Games of The Week
Thursday
Cherry Hill East (6-0) at Cherry Hill West (2-4), 6 p.m.
Cherry Hill East (6-0) at Cherry Hill West (2-4), 6 p.m.
The records suggest that this might not be much of a game, but this is one of the great rivalries in South Jersey. East is coming off consecutive 42-0 wins, over Atlantic Tech and Clearview. (One of West’s wins is a 42-6 victory over Clearview). The Lions are looking to snap a three-game losing streak after last week’s 28-21 loss to Triton. East is eying its second straight win over West after last year’s 28-7 victory.
Friday
Atlantic City (5-1) at Eastern (4-2), 6 p.m.

Atlantic City has won three in a row following a 45-34 division loss to Cedar Creek.
Sophomore quarterback Marvin Burroughs has thrown for 1,367 yards and 16 TDs.
Eastern bounced back from a 35-28 loss to Pennsauken to defeat Trenton last week, 35-7. Senior quarterback Nick Curreri has thrown for 745 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Washington Township (6-0) at Rancocas Valley (4-2), 6 p.m.
Many view this as a potential Group 5 sectional final preview. Rancocas Valley has lost two in a row, but the Red Devils have played four straight games without starting quarterback Sayvien Adams, among the top players in South Jersey. A week ago, Rancocas Valley coach Garrett Lucas said it was possible Adams could return against Washington Township. Even at full strength, beating Washington Township will be a major challenge. Washington Township, which lost to Rancocas Valley, 27-0 last year, has had only one game this season in which it didn’t win by at least three touchdowns—a 21-10 win over Millville. Township quarterback Cole Aquino has thrown for 682 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Holy Cross Prep (4-2, 3-0 WJFL United) at Bishop Eustace (4-1, 3-0), 7 p.m.
These are two of three teams unbeaten in the United, with Kipp Norcross being the other. Eustace is looking to bounce back from a 36-0 loss to Riverside. Holy Cross Prep has lost two in a row following last week’s 19-14 loss to Princeton after falling the previous week to Riverside, 28-21. Based on the common opponent, Riverside, Holy Cross Prep enters this game as the favorite. Holy Cross Prep junior quarterback Shane Reilley has thrown for 746 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Saturday
Burlington City (5-1, 4-0 WJFL National) at Lawrence (4-2, 3-1), noon
Burlington City (5-1, 4-0 WJFL National) at Lawrence (4-2, 3-1), noon
Burlington City would clinch at least a tie for the division title with a win. The Blue Devils are coming off last week’s 8-0 loss to one of South Jersey’s top teams, Burlington Township. Leading the City attack is Donte Davis, who has rushed for 869 yards and 12 touchdowns. Lawrence has won two in a row following last week’s 52-0 win over West Windsor Plainsboro South. James Lyons has rushed for 774 yards and nine touchdowns.
