SJ Kids - Cool Events This week we are going to focus on some really cool events taking place in South Jersey for the younger kids. From 50 years of Colorforms at the Garden State Discovery Museum to a New Year’s Eve Deep Sleep at the New Jersey State Aquarium.

First over the Garden State Discovery Museum, located at 16 North Springdale Road in Cherry Hill to celebrate one of America's most treasured toys - Colorforms- with a brand new exhibit. Pick up oversized vinyl shapes and create your own design on the Museum's giant walls. Learn about the 50-year history of one of the most respected names in the toy industry. This event is running now thru January 5th. Call the Discovery Museum for times.

Also at the Discovery Museum, today through December 31st. bring the little ones by for the Kwanzaa Celebration. Children can learn about this important African American celebration and enjoy Kwanzaa storytelling with Queen Nur on December 26th and 28th at 1:00 P.M.

And we can’t forget about New Year’s Eve for the kids. On Monday, December 31st, the Garden State Discovery Museum will ring in the New Year a bit early. Stop by and be the first to ring in the New Year...Kid Style! Join in the fun as the museum hosts a New Year's parade and countdown 'till noon.

If you’re still looking for more to do with the kids, you can always celebrate the 2002 Winter games with the Philadelphia Phantoms and Skatezone! Just head on over to the New Jersey State Aquarium to celebrate the 2002 Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City, UT. Skatezone will offer fun games and excitement that relates to the Olympic Games. From noon-5 p.m., programs and shows will be interpreted into American Sign Language for our hearing-impaired visitors.

New Year's Eve takes on a whole new twist at the Aquarium this year when you ring in the New Year with your favorite fish! Mom, Dad and the kids can spend the night at the Aquarium and enjoy special dive shows, puppet shows and tours. Enjoy the fireworks display over the Delaware River as you ring in the New Year and toast with ginger ale.
