CCC Adds IT Certification Testing

A new contract with Prometric has allowed the college to add testing capabilities to its computer certification training. Until this month, anyone enrolled in programs such as Microsoft Certified Professional and Certified Novell Administrator at CCC had to test elsewhere.
Camden County College is now New Jersey's only community college with test-center authorization from Prometric, which maintains a network of more than 4,200 sites in nearly 150 countries. The Baltimore-based division of Thomson Learning is the exclusive provider of training and assessment for most Microsoft, Novell, and CISCO certification programs.
In addition to the previously mentioned MCP and CNA programs, others for which students can train and test at Camden County College include Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer/Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator; Network Administrator Specialist; Network+ Certification by CompTIA; SERVER+ Certification by CompTIA; CISCO Certified Network Associate; CISCO Certified Network Professional; A+/Network+ Certification by CompTIA; Linux+ Certification by CompTIA; Certified Computer Programmer; Oracle8 Certified Database Administrator; E-Commerce Strategies and Practices; Certified Internet Webmaster; and Adobe Certified Expert for PhotoShop 6.0.
Karen Kozachyn, the college's occupational skills director, reviews requirements and benefits for each of these certifications during weekly information sessions. These take place at 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays at the William G. Rohrer Center, which is located at Route 70 and Springdale Road in Cherry Hill.
For program details or to reserve a seat at an information session, contact Kozachyn by telephone at (856) 375-4955 or via e-mail at kkozachyn@camdencc.edu. To schedule a certification test, call the Prometric Testing Registration Center at (800) 967-1100 between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Monday through Friday or 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
