Bail Reduction Denied for Accused Mom The prosecution says Heather Lilndorff beat her adopted son to death. Her attorney says the abuse occured prior to adoption. The judge denied a reduction in bail request and it all happened during Friday's bail hearing.

Judge Anne Mc Donnell ordered 37 year old Heather Lindorff to be examined by a jail psychiatrist and she refused to lower her $1,000,000 bail. Lindorff is charged with murder child abuse aggravated assault in the December 14th death of five year old Jacob Lindorff. In arguing to continue the high bail, assistant Professor Mary Pfyffer said the child died of blunt force trauma and that there was sufficient evidence that Heather Lindorff murdered the five year old boy.

Five year old Jacob, his twin brother and older brother, were adopted in October from Russia. The Lindorffs also adopted 3 sisters from Russia 18 months ago. Defense attorney Steve Patrick says Jacob was abused by his birth mother and others while in Russian foster care. He said the child physical problems was bullied and ridiculed. He argued that Jacob's injuries occured weeks earlier while the boy was still in Russia.

52 year old James Lindorff is charged with child abuse in the same case and is out on his own recognizance. The judge said he is not to visit the surviving children who are currently with Heather Lindorff's mother.

The couple adopted six children from Russia, three sisters 18 months ago and Jacob and his two brothers in October. Meanwhile the state will not move to present this case to a grand jury for indictment.
