Hermits Shoot Down Cancer The Hermits Shoot Down Cancer basketball game attracts a crowd that is proud to attack cancer. Hermits' alumni and current Clemson University freshman forward, Olu Babalola, made an appearance in support of the program, which produced over $4,000.

The game took place on Friday, March 15, and ended with a half-court shot contest. Saint Augustine, Our Lady of Mercy Academy, and Sacred Heart got together to make the game and charity possible, by selecting a group of seniors to play in the event.

Nana "Pops" Mensah-Bonsu was the only varsity member to be a part of the actual game, but a great deal of Coach Paul Rodio's freshman, junior varsity, and varsity players participated off the court also. Whether it was the 50/50 collection, half-court shot, or the mid-court game of musical chairs, a great deal of money was produced to help lessen the percentage of cancer and strengthen the percentage of study on this serious subject.

Saint Augustine coach, Paul Rodio, planned the event with Our Lady of Mercy Academy and Sacred Heart, and each high school recognized how the fight against cancer will be benefited. Though the actual score was not totaled, each team left the court with their heads high realizing the outcome off the court for the cancer victims.
