Trenton, New Jersey April 4, 2002 — The woman who regulates and licenses state casinos has been named head of the agency that licenses drivers. Diane Legreide will run the state Division of Motor Vehicles.

Governor McGreevey made the announcement today. He also announced a panel of "reformers" he appointed to examine operations at the division, which has more than 12-hundred employees.

Legreide has served since 1994 on the Casino Control Commission, where she issued licenses to casinos, employees and businesses.

Her first mission will be to make improvements to the state system of motor vehicle registrations, inspections and drivers licenses.
