Airport Computer Thieves Charged

Airport Computer Thieves Charged Three men were charged with stealing computer equipment worth $69,000 from a terminal at Philadelphia International Airport, federal authorities said Tuesday.

Frank Davis Jr., 28, of Maple Shade, N.J., posed as a shipping firm employee to steal 60 containers of computer equipment from a cargo area at the Swissair terminal on March 18, 1998, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office in Philadelphia.

The equipment was sold at an open-air market in Southwest Philadelphia, prosecutors said.

Davis faces conspiracy and stolen property charges. Also charged were two co-defendants, Louis Cook, 26, of Sharon Hill, Pa., and Ronald Bramble, 38, of Norwood, Pa.

If convicted, each defendant faces a maximum sentence that includes 15 years in prison and a $500,000 fine, federal prosecutors said.
