NJ Psychic Busted for Scam Officials filed a theft charge against a psychic who is accused of bilking a woman out of $183,000 in cash and jewels. Authorities say Christine Evans was charged Monday with felony theft by deception.

Evans allegedly told the 47-year-old victim – who suffers from manic depression – that "evil spirits had entered her body."

Evans uses the name professional name Yanna. She met the victim in March and told her that one of the spirits was a man from the 1880s who wanted to make her life miserable.

The victim said Evans told her she could cleanse herself by buying her jewelry and giving her cash. The victim went to authorities last week after realizing how much she had given Evans.
