Mold Closes School

Mold Closes School Students at a Florence Township school will have to finish their studies at another building. District officials said yesterday that the Roebling Elementary school has been closed due to a toxic mold problem. About 470 students attend classes there.

The decision comes after workers found the mold under paint in a classroom, the second time that's happened in the past five weeks.

The mold spot, about the size of a quarter, was found last week. Officials say the mold (Stachybotrys atra) affects different people in different ways.

The decision to close the school in the Burlington County district was made Friday, and a letter was sent home to parents that day.
