Video Lottery To Be Studied

Video Lottery To Be Studied Governor James E. McGreevey signed an Executive Order yesterday establishing a Video Lottery Study Commission, the goal of which is to review the legal, policy, and economic issues associated with the use of video lottery terminals in New Jersey.

“The Video Lottery Study Commission will examine the legal, economic and policy issues surrounding video lotteries and provide a through and extensive review of its implications in the State of New Jersey,” said McGreevey.

The Commission is being asked to report on its review and examination of video lottery issues within 90 days.

The Commission will include the Attorney General, a representative of the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority, a representative of the Casino Control Commission, and five distinguished citizens to be appointed by the Governor to serve as public members. Former Governor Brendan T. Byrne will chair the Commission.
