Another Death Penalty Case in SJ? South Jersey prosecutors want the death penalty for a man accused of pouring gasoline on a woman and then setting her on fire.

Margaret Sweeny, 45, died in a blaze at her Woodlynne home in August 2002.

Prosecutors said John Alivera, 24, broke into Sweeny's home, handcuffed and put duct tape around her hands and feet. He then allegedly doused her with gasoline and lit a cigarette.

Investigators said Alivera was allegedly upset that about a break-up with the victim's daughter.

The grand jury indicted Alivera on 11 counts and prosecutors said the punishment to fit this crime is death, if he's convicted.

He is being held in the Camden County jail on $1 million bail.
