Child Drowns at a State Park A child drowned Tuesday in a lake at Parvin State Park after he apparently wandered away from a play area. Police said the unidentified two-year-old Winslow Township boy had gone to the Pittsgrove site with his grandmother and 10 other relatives between the ages of one and ten.

The grandmother says she last saw the boy playing on some gym equipment. She searched the area for 20 minutes and then told lifeguards that the toddler was missing.

The swimming area was then cleared and the boy's body was found by some beachgoers about 100 yards east of the designated swim area and nearly 30 feet from shore.

The boy was flown by helicopter to Cooper Hospital-University Medical Center in Camden, where he was died a short time later.
