Vegas Hags` Pigskin Pics Week 3

Vegas Hags` Pigskin Pics Week 3 Another Sunday, another slate of exciting NFL games. Maybe parity isn`t so bad after all! Of course, there are some things that never change – The Eagles tease their rabid fans with a big win and then stink up the joint the next week; Bruce Coslet must still have those pictures of the Bengals owners with farm animals (how else could that guy keep his job?!!); The Rams can still light up the scoreboard at will; and the Cowboys still suck (that Still feels good – even if the Birds did lose to the hated Giants)!

I can`t wait to see what week 3 has in store for us.

Bills (+1) at Jets

This should be a dogfight. It`s tough to bet against the Jets at home, but the Bills look tough. The short week and the Bills D will do in the Jets. Look for an ugly offensive outing.

Bills by 3

49ers (+16 ½) at Rams

Boy, would this be an upset if the Niners somehow put it together this week. Yeah, right. And I`m the next president of the US. Can you say blowout, boys and girls? Rams D finally steps it up.

Rams by 20

Falcons (+6) at Panthers

Both these teams can put on an aerial show, but the Panther should be able to handle the defenseless Falcons in their home opener. Look for a fairly close game until Carolina rips by in the 4th quarter.

Panthers by 7

Steelers (-2) at Browns

This could be ugly – coyote ugly. This used to be a great rivalry before Art Modell snuck out of Cleveland with the Browns in tow and the Steelers let Bill Cowher stick around way too long. Tim Couch looked very good last week (OK, it was against the Bungles) and should move the Browns again this week. The Steelers had a bye to rest up last week and should be ready to go for their first win of the year. I like the Steelers in a close one.

Steelers by 3

Bucs (-3) at Lions

The Bucs looked great again last week. Detroit won again with smoke and mirrors. The Lions are super - tough at the Silverdome, but I can`t see them at 3-0. Tampa`s D is the difference in this low scoring affair.

Bucs by 4

Bengals (+13) at Jacksonville

How mad are the Jags after that last minute loss to the Ravens? How bad are the Bengals after that hellacious outing against the Browns? Keep those pictures handy, Bruce.

Jaguars by 21

Broncos (+3) at Oakland

Yeah, Baby. This is going to be fun to watch. John Gruden has the Raiders believing in themselves (John Gruden?) and Denver is much improved with Brian Griese in his 2nd year. I like the Broncos to squeak out the upset on the shoulders of Terell Davis (or some other running back).

Broncos by 2

Chargers (+5) at Chiefs

The Chargers have put their faith in Moses (Moreno). They`ll need all the faith they can get as the Chiefs are out for blood after starting the year with 2 tough losses. Leaf or Moreno, the Chargers offense is offensive.

Chiefs by 13

Giants (+2 ½) at Bears

This is a strange line. How can the 2-0 Giants be getting points from the 0-2 Bears who got smoked 41-0 last week? That scares the heck out of me, but I`m still going with the Giants. Should be a decent game as both offenses have some players (no, not Curtis Enis). Giants in an upset (upset?).

Giants by 6

Vikings (2 ½) at Patriots

Another good game. The Pats have lost 2 heartbreakers, and the Vikings have won 2 close ones. I`m going to listen to the line on this one. Patriots get their first win.

Pats by 2

Saints (+6) at Seahawks

Mike Holmgren should have the Hawks fired up for this one. I don`t see Ricky and the Aints knocking Seattle to 0-3. If they do, Mike Holmgren will have to be put in a padded cell.

Seahawks by 9

Ravens (-2) at Dolphins

This has all the makings of a letdown for the Ravens. The Dolphins D is all that and then some. Unfortunately, their offense is none of that and then some. I think it will be a close, low scoring, relatively ugly game with the Ravens pulling it out by a field goal. Don`t even think about Tony Banks throwing for 5 TD`s.

Ravens by 3

Eagles (+4 ½) at Packers

Hopefully I`ll be wrong on the Birds again (for the hometown fans sake). Green Bay is 0-2 and returning to Lambeu Field. I think the Eagles put up a fight here, but they just don`t have the offensive weapons, yet. Favre should be able to make just enough big plays on the Eagles stingy D (except for last week) to keep McNabb and the Birds at bay. Sorry.

Packers by 6

Cowboys (+10) at Redskins

Yes! Dallas at 0-3. The only thing better would be if the Eagles were somehow 3-0 (sorry, my medication is wearing of). Dallas can still play a little – just enough to only lose by a few points, but the Redskins are hungry. This line is a little too generous with Westbrook out for the year. Albert Connell and Irving Fryar sounds a little like Charles Johnson and Torrance Small to me. A decent Monday Nighter to watch.

Redskins by 6

Last week: 9-6 against the spread; 8-7 straight up.

Year to Date: 17-13 against the spread; 19-11 straight up.
