Vegas Hags` Pigskin Pics Week 4 Week 4

It was bad enough watching the Eagles not only lose AND bore us to death last week, but we also had to endure televised torture as both the Giants and Cowboys won! I guess that big opening week win over the Cowboys was a tease. The Eagles passing game is quite possibly the worst in the NFL right now. It looks like another suffering season for us Eagles fans.

Let`s change the subject and move on to the picks for week 4. Week 3 was not very kind to me…

Bengals (+11 ½) at Ravens

Believe it or not, this game has me worried. I feel Baltimore will win the game and should be motivated after their loss to Miami last week. 11 ½ points are a lot to lay (even to the Bungles) and the Raven`s offense hasn`t sold me yet. Bruce Coslet…no defense…no O line…All Right, already!

Ravens by 13

Lions (+1 ½) at Bears

The Bears are desperate, but they also stink. The Lions might even be able to run the ball this week. I can`t believe the Bears are actually favored. Maybe the line should tell me something…Yeah; the Lions won`t win by 20.

Lions by 7

Patriots (+4 ½) at Dolphins

Another desperate team in the Pats, and they also stink (I`m beginning to see a pattern). These teams usually play close games, but Bledsoe will be running for his life. The Dolphins take advantage of home field and their D.

Dolphins by 6

Rams (- 6 ½) at Falcons

This may actually be a test for the Rams. The Falcons will try to air it out with them, but the Rams should pull away late. Look for a high electric bill from the scoreboard fireworks in Atlanta.

Rams by 9

49ers (+6) at Dallas

Troy Boy is back, but could be saying, “this doesn`t look like Kansas, Toto” by halftime. I think the Niners can stay close with Aikman in as QB. This should be a close game between bad teams. Pokes win but don`t cover.

Cowboys by 3

Titans (-7) at Steelers

After a loss and a bye, the Titans are loaded for Bear… or Steel. Pittsburgh is awful, even at home.

Titans by 13

Packers (+1) at Cardinals

The Cards are well rested after a bye and the Pack should be too after putting themselves (and all of us) to sleep in their win over the Birds. I like the Cards here to air it out and win at home.

Cardinals by 4

Browns (+10 ½) at Raiders

Cinderella story…the Browns are 2-1. Not after this week. Oakland is not happy after getting beat up again by the Broncos. The Brownies pay.

Raiders by 17

Chiefs (+7 ½) at Broncos

Elvis was in the building last week and threw for 5 TD`s. The Chiefs should make a game of this and the Broncos could let down after the emotional win against Oakland last week. I see a close game decided at the end by a field goal. No Griese, no win.

Chiefs by 3

Jets (+7) at Bucs

Are the Jets for real? This should go a long way in answering that question. Tampa Bay should be able to stifle Vinny and the Jets` measly passing game. Can Keyshawn back up his BIG mouth? Jets put the helmet on him early and often. This should be a good one – lots of drama. Tampa wins but won`t cover.

Bucs by 4

Seahawks (-2) at Chargers

Ryan Leaf gets the call again for San Diego. Their offense is putrid! If the Hawks don`t win here, Holmgren should retire.

Seahawks by 9

Redskins (-2) at Giants

The Redskins need this one badly. The problem is, all the money in the world can`t buy back Mike Westbrook. Expect to see Jeff George in the 2nd half and expect a dogfight of a game. The Giants are the better team right now, but the Skins need it more.

Redskins by 3

Eagles (+1 ½) at Saints

What`s worse than watching a 6-3 loss to the Packers? How about a date with the Aints? All fans of both teams should wear bags over their heads for this one. Until the Birds get something going in the air, I`m not picking them. Brian Dawkins` absence will hurt, too.

Saints by 3

Jaguars (+3) at Colts

Another good match-up for ABC, this should be a high scoring affair. The Colts come off of a bye and so do the Jags (OK, they played the Bengals). I`m not sold on the Colts, since their D has some serious Swiss cheese going. The Jags seem to have better balance, and Fred Taylor is due back this week (until he gets a hang - nail that shelves him for 3 more weeks). Tough call, but I`ll go Colts due to the rest and home field.

Colts by 4

Records:

Last week: 5-8-1 against the spread; 8-6 straight up

Season to date: 22-21-1 against the spread; 27-17 straight up
