Vegas Hags Pigskin picks

by G. Haggerty | Oct 19, 2000
Vegas Hags Pigskin picks Ouch! I guess I should have gone with all my winners to cover last week. I had a great week straight up; against the spread was another issue entirely!

This week again offers some challenges, but that usually means great games to watch. I`m disappointed I don`t have the Giants to kick around this week (bye) and would like to tell my friend Kells that the Giants suck, anyway! Here we go…

Lions (+8 ½) at Buccaneers

8 ½ is a lot to lay as the Lions actually have a better record than the Bucs. I think there is a chance for a blow out here due to Tampa`s frustration and the build up coming off of a bye. But…I can`t see the Bucs O doing that much. Keyshawn will, however, get the damn ball.

Cardinals (+7) at Cowboys

Boy, did Troy Boy look great last week or what?! Stick a fork in him – he`s done. Cowpokes get a win here, though, because the Cardinals suck.

Cowboys by 3

Bills (+6 ½) at Vikings

Looks like a mismatch on paper, but the Vikes aren`t going undefeated. The Bills will ride a Flutie miracle to a W.

Bills by 2

Browns (+9) at Steelers

Paybacks are a bitch. The Steelers will be out for blood and they`ll get it, even with Kent Graham at the helm. The Brownies get baked here.

Steelers by 10

Broncos (-9 ½) at Bengals

OK, the Broncos are good enough to lay the points. Can you say blowout?

Broncos by 21

Patriots (+8 ½) at Colts

These two teams always play close games and even though the Colts are far superior this year, this could be interesting.

Colts by 6

Saints (-1 ½) at Falcons

The Saints are actually pretty good – the Falcons on the other hand…

Saints by 3

Rams (-7) at Chiefs

The Rams finally get tested! Everything will move a little slower on grass for Kurt & Co., and the Chiefs can be tough at home. Nah.

Rams by 10

49ers (+3 ½) at Panthers

These teams seem to be going in very different directions. I think the Niners pull off the upset.

49ers by 3

Titans (even) at Ravens

If the Ravens had any offense that wasn`t offensive, I`d give them the nod at home. Unfortunately, Tony Banks is putrid.

Titans by 3

Seahawks (+7 ½) at Raiders

The Raiders may be for real. Nice scowl, Gruden.

Raiders by 9

Redskins (-2 ½) at Jaguars

Jacksonville is mad as hell – but who`s scared? The Skins are a better team right now.

Redskins by 4

Bears (+6 ½) at Eagles

Are the Eagles for real? We should find out more this week. Before you are become a good team, you need to beat the teams you`re supposed to beat. Here come Da Bears. I think this Birds team knows what to do.

Eagles by 7

Dolphins (+3) at Jets

What a difference a year makes. Last year, MNF games were a joke by now. Here`s another good matchup for Dennis and the boys. Jets are tough at home, but the dolphins have a better D. If they can stop Curtis Martin, the Jets are cooked.

Dolphins by 2

Records:

Last week: 6-9 against the spread; 12-3 straight up. Year to Date: 52-47-2 against the spread; 63-39 straight up.
