South Jersey Woman Disappears

With striking good looks, Kimbery McCool Szumski is hard to miss. Yet no one has seen or heard from the mother of two since, according to her husband Thomas, she walked away from the family`s Cinnaminson home at 5:30 on the morning of May 8th with nothing more than the clothes on her back. Although he is a family law attorney, Eric Spevak he is serving solely as the husband`s spokesperson. "Right now, to be perfectly candid with you, they`re in a state of shock," he told Action News.
By all accounts Thomas Szumski has been cooperative, granting police access to the home in the search for clues, but one law enforcement source says it remains unclear why Kimberly walked away without her personal belongings or car. Although she was athletic and reportedly wearing a halter top and running shorts that morning, it was not part of her routine to go running.
Spevak says, "My client`s been forthcoming and whatever he knows he`s been telling them and he wants to know where his wife is."
In addition to family, investigators have interviewed co-workers at Ott`s tavern where Kimberly is a waitress and Gold`s Gym where she`s an aerobics instructor. Her missing person`s poster hangs on the entryway to the gym.
Police have also spoken to a slew of neighbors, who haven`t seen a thing but hope for good news soon. "I`ve never heard reports that this was a dangerous neighborhood in any way," says neighbor Angela Barr. "It appears to be safe to me. Sometimes I`ve gotten up at six o`clock in the morning and walked but now I won`t do it. It`s frightening, a little bit, that this woman has disappeared."
Kimberly McCool Szumski is 5`6", 120 pounds, of thin build, and with blonde hair and blue eyes. Anyone with information is asked to call Burlington County`s major crimes unit at (609) 265-7113. All calls will be kept confidential.
