West Lifts Surf In Slugfest

West Lifts Surf In Slugfest Atlantic City`s George West blasted a three run homer in the eighth inning to lift the Surf (6-4) over the Bridgeport Bluefish (4-6) 14-11 Tuesday night at the Sandcastle.

Defense was not exactly a priority for both teams, as they combined to commit an astounding thirteen errors and also amassed 31 hits. Down 5-0 in the first inning, the Surf bats responded to even the score at 7-7 after six innings.

The Surf had to fight back once again in the seventh, scoring three runs led by Jack Joffrion`s one run double to tie it at 10-10.

Joffrion was four for four with five runs batted in. West, whose game winning home run was his first of the year, was three for five for the Surf.

The Surf take on the Bridgeport Bluefish on Wednesday, May 16th at 6:35pm and again for a "Little Person`s Special" on Thursday, May 17th at 11:35am. This special day is sponsored by Gillian`s Pier in Ocean City, NJ
