Curve Pitching SIilences Thunder

(Trenton)- Altoona`s bullpen allowed one run over 7 2/3 innings to lead the Curve to a 2-1 win over Trenton Friday night. The win snapped a seven-game losing streak for Altoona.
Curve starter John Grabow left the game after 1 1/3 innings due to an injury. Four pitchers followed to hold the Thunder (16-24) in check and get the win. Altoona`s bullpen had an 8.44 ERA during their seven-game losing streak.
Larry Wimberly (1-1) allowed one run over 3 2/3 innings to get the victory. Brad Guy pitched a scoreless 9th inning for his 3rd save.
Altoona (16-26) grabbed a 1-0 lead in the 1st inning on a solo homer by SS Shaun Skrehot off Trenton starter Derrin Ebert.
The Thunder tied the game in the 4th inning. R.J. Johnson tripled with one out. Jerry Salzano then hit a ground ball to Skrehot, whose throw home was late. Johnson scored to make it a 1-1 game.
Altoona took a 2-1 lead as Tony Alvarez and Skrehot singled to start the 6th inning. Kevin Haverbusch grounded out, but Alvarez scored for a 2-1 Altoona lead.
