The Cooper Foundation and the Norcross Foundation will distribute more than 41,000 reusable face masks to educators, police, fire and EMS personnel to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
 
Additionally, The Cooper Foundation and Cooper University Health Care employees donated 1,800 backpacks filled with school supplies to students in Camden.
 
Inspira Health received the South Jersey COVID-19 Response Fund award and with it recruited 62 staff members to care for the growing number of COVID-19 patients.
 
CVS Health announced that it will be opening 21 more COVID-19 testing sites in New Jersey, increasing the total to 78 in the state. The sites in South Jersey are in Egg Harbor Township, Swedesboro and Voorhees.
 
Cooper University Health Care has announced the formation of the Cooper Care Alliance (CCA), a new community-based physicians group. Dr. Carmen Ciervo, Dr. Greg Taylor and Dr. Thayalan K. Cumarasay joined CCA.
 
Deborah Heart and Lung Center has received the American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines-Heart Failure Gold Plus Achievement Award. The award recognizes the hospital’s lasting commitment to providing the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized guidelines.
 
Coinciding with Atrial Fibrillation Awareness Month, Drs. Raffaele Corbisiero, Pedram Kazemian and Bernard Hynes of Deborah Heart and Lung Center celebrated their 2000th robotic ablation procedure. This milestone makes Deborah the leading provider of robotic ablations on the East Coast.
 
Additionally, Corbisiero, chair of the electrophysiology department, has also achieved a personal milestone of 1,000 procedures.
