South Jersey Football Games of the Week
It’s hard to believe but this is the final week of the regular season for high school public school teams with the playoffs beginning next week. There are many division showdowns that are among the top games this week.

Friday

Washington Township (8-0, 4-0 WJFL American) at St. Augustine (7-1, 3-1), 6

Washington Township has clinched at least a share of the WJFL American Division and would be outright champion with a win. The Minutemen own a current state record 22-game win streak. Since becoming eligible after his transfer from Winslow Township, Washington Township QB Jalen Parker has thrown for 686 yards and 10 touchdowns and run for 266 yards and five scores in four games. St. Augustine is led by Cincinnati commit Roman Coney, who has rushed for 835 yards and 12 touchdowns. The Hermits have won three in a row since suffering a 28-21 defeat at Millville.

Winslow Township (4-3, 1-3 WJFL American) at Millville (4-3, 2-2), 6

There is nothing at stake here, but this could be a Group 4 playoff preview. These two compete in the toughest division in South Jersey. Winslow Township has lost three of its last four games following last week’s 42-17 loss to unbeaten Washington Township. Millville is looking to rebound from last week’s 35-14 loss to a red-hot Atlantic City team. Robert O’Connor, a senior QB at Millville, has passed for 1,237 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Palmyra (4-3, 3-1 WJFL United) at Middle Township (4-4, 4-0), 6

Middle Township has already clinched at least a share of the division title, and a win would earn it outright Palmyra could share the title with Middle Township with a win. After last week’s 30-0 win over Wildwood, Palmyra has won four of its last five games. Middle Township had lost two in a row before last week’s forfeit win over Lindenwold.

West Deptford (8-0, 4-0 WJFL Constitution) at Seneca (6-2, 3-1), 7

West Deptford has already clinched a share of the WJFL Constitutional and would claim the title outright with a win. Seneca, which has won six in a row after a 0-2 start, would earn a share of the title by beating West Deptford. Senior Anthony Tirico has thrown for 1,226 yards and 11 touchdowns for Seneca while rushing for 1,204 yards and 15 scores. West Deptford has one of the top running games in South Jersey. Cole Paskiewicz has rushed for 1,061 yards and 15 touchdowns. The Eagles have won every game this year by 10 or more points.

Bordentown (6-1, 4-0 WJFL Patriot) at Camden Catholic (4-3, 4-0), 7

This is a division showdown, with the winner earning the WJFL Patriot championship. Bordentown has won five in a row since a 34-7 loss at Steinert . Camden Catholic is led by one of South Jesey’s top running back in senior Nymir Dailey, who has rushed for 1,112 yards and 12 touchdowns.
