(Portland, ME)- Sea Dogs hitters pounded out 17 hits, inclduing four each by Derek Wathan and Abraham Nunez, in a 12-7 win over Trenton. The Thunder have lost eight of their last nine games and drop to 55-55 on the year.

The Thunder started off quick with a homer by Angel Santos on the first pitch of the game for a 1-0 lead. Trenton added two more runs in the inning off Hansel Izquierdo (3-2).

Garry Maddox gave the Thunder a 4-1 edge in the 4th Inning with a solo homer his 9th of the year.

Portland (58-52) came back strong by scoring three runs, including back-to-back homers by Nunez and Chris Aguila, in the bottom half to tie the game at 4-4.

With a 6-6 tie, Portland took the lead for good on a RBI triple by Nunez. Luke Wilcox added an RBI single to make it 8-6. They broke it open with four runs in the 8th Inning for the 12-6 final.

Trenton`s bullpen struggled as they allowed eight runs (seven earned in 4 2/3 innings. Startert Greg Montalbano lasted just 3 1/3 innings (four runs) and got a no-decision. The loss went to Terrance Hill (1-1).

Izquierdo got the win, despite allwoing six runs in seven innings. Ryan Moskau got his 2nd save with two shutout innings of relief.
