Nashua Takes Series In Camden  CAMDEN, NJ—August 15, 2001—The Nashua Pride win the series two games to one, winning today 8-4 over the Camden Riversharks in front of 5,429 fans at Campbell`s Field. The attendance marks the eighth highest total for the season and the highest Monday through Thursday attendance. Today`s attendance raises the average to 3,970 fans per game. The Riversharks knocked off the Pride in the first game of the three-game series only to lose final two.

The Riversharks led the game 4-3 entering the fourth inning, but could not score in the remaining seven innings. Nashua, on the other hand, tacked on five more to take the lead and the game. Pride first baseman D.J. Boston led the way going 4-for-5 with one run batted in and two runs scored. Rightfielder Jose Malave assisted in the 15-hit attack going 2-for-5 with two runs batted in and one run scored.

Camden could manage only five hits off of starter Lenin Picota, who picked up the victory pitching seven innings allowing five runs, two walks and 10 strikeouts. Catcher Guillermo Garcia was the only Rivershark with multiple hits, going 1-for-2 with two runs batted in. Also, third baseman Brad Strauss hit his seventh home run of the season. Anthony Briggs took the loss, dropping his record to 0-3 for the season. He lasted four innings, allowing five runs on ten hits and one strikeout.

The Camden Riversharks open a three-game series against the Atlantic City Surf, to renew the Expressway Series rivalry. Tomorrow, the Cherry Hill/Camden Chamber of Commerce will be hosting an expo at Campbell`s Field with over 40 local businesses displaying their merchandise and equipment on booths around the concourse.
