Vegas Hags Pigskin Picks - Week 13

by G.Haggerty | Dec 8, 2001
Vegas Hags Pigskin Picks - Week 13 12-3 against the spread last week, 22-7 the last two weeks. Ah, November in the NFL – the cream starts to rise! There are some great divisional match ups this week and a few teams have win or pack it in games. There are also a few snoozers… Now let’s get to the picks!

Carolina (plus 3) at Buffalo
Snoozer alert. These teams are playing for draft position. I’ll take the home team, but who really cares about this one?!
Bills 28 – Panthers 27

Chicago (plus 6½) at Green Bay
The Bears keep winning, but I don’t see it in Lambeau this week.
Packers 20 – Bears 16

Kansas City (plus 9) at Oakland
The Raiders are mad and the Chiefs will pay. Blowout time.
Raiders 31 – Chiefs 17

Detroit (plus 8½) at Tampa Bay
The Lions are the best 0 – 11 team I’ve ever seen. That being said, they’re still pretty bad. The Bucs are on a playoff march.
Bucs 24 – Lions 17

San Francisco (plus 7½) at St. Louis
This will be fun to watch as a shootout should ensue. If the Rams don’t turn it over, they win comfortably.
Rams 38 – 49ers 28

Tennessee (even) at Minnesota
The Vikings are dead, the Titans are trying to hang on.
Titans 27 – Vikings 20

Cleveland (plus 5) at New England
This should be a pretty good game. Who’d of thunk it in week 1?
Patriots 20 – Browns 17

New York Jets (plus 5) at Pittsburgh
This will be a close one, too. The Jets need a win to stay near the top[ of the East and the Steelers are due for a let down.
Jets 19 – Steelers 13

Jacksonville (even) at Cincinnati
Another snoozer. Jags have more talent.
Jaguars 26 – Bengals 21

New Orleans (minus 3½) at Atlanta
Another tough divisional game, the winner stays in the hunt for a wild card berth, the loser goes on life support.
Saints 23 – Falcons 17

Washington (even) at Arizona
Another surprisingly close game, the winner stays alive in the East, the loser gets ready for draft day.
Redskins 24 – Cardinals 21

San Diego (plus 7) at Philadelphia
The Eagles need to win the games they are supposed to win (oops, that didn’t quite work vs. the Redskins and Cardinals). This is a must win, and I think they squash the Chargers pretty good. That is, if the real offense shows up again.
Eagles 28 – Chargers 20

New York Giants (minus 4) at Dallas
The Giants have to win or they are pretty much done. Dallas almost knocked them off last time, and this should be close for a while, too.
Giants 20 – Cowboys 13

Seattle (plus 6) at Denver
Denver is already on life support, and the Seahawks need a win to stay off. I think Denver pulls out a squeeker.
Broncos 27 – Seahawks 24

Monday Night
Indianapolis (plus 5) at Miami
Stick a fork in the Colts, they’re done. So is Jim Mora.
Dolphins 28 – Colts 24

Record:
Last week – straight up: 11-4, Against the spread: 12-3
Year to Date - straight up: 106-64, Against the spread: 91-79
