Vegas Hags Pigskin Picks

by Vegas Hags | Dec 7, 2003
Vegas Hags Pigskin Picks The Birds are on a roll and now get that showdown with the hated Cowgirls for the division lead. The Linc will be hoppin’, the fans will be crazy and the game will be intense. Can the Eagles actually win their 8th in a row? Will the Cowboys defense be able to shut down the Eagles “spread the ball out to everyone including the ball boy” offense? Get all the answers and this week’s NFL picks here...

San Diego (+3) at Detroit: Home or not, the Lions are more like pussycats. The Chargers are no great shakes either, but have more weapons and should pull this one out.

Chargers 27 – Lions 23

Chicago (+7) at Green Bay: Green Bay stinks on the road, but should be ready to go at home after a long week to prepare for the surging Bears. Lambeau in December will not be a fun experience for Kordell.

Packers 28 – Bears 19

Oakland (+5½) at Pittsburgh: Both of these teams have been incredibly disappointing this season. If the Raiders had a real QB I might pick them here, but Rick Mirer does not qualify as one, so Pittsburgh takes it at home.

Steelers 24 – Raiders 20

Houston (+6) at Jacksonville: Both the Jags and Texans have played better of late and their defenses have been pretty good. I can’t see Houston being ready to win on the road yet, so I have to go with the Jags.

Jaguars 20 – Texans 17

Washington (+3) at N.Y. Giants: Both of these teams are done. Take the home team in a close one.

Giants 27 – Redskins 23

Indianapolis (+3½) at Tennessee: Now we’re talking. Tennesee will be like a caged animal after getting smoked by the Jets. The Colts creamed the Titans esarlier this year, but I think it’s payback time.

Titans 31 – Colts 27

Cincinnati (+3) at Baltimore: Wow, the Bengals playing for the division lead. Unbelievable! But short - lived.

Ravens 17 – Bengals 13

Dallas (+5½) at Philadelphia: I know Bill Parcells is a great coach, but sweeping the Eagles this year? Forget about it. The Eagles are much better than they were when these two teams last met and the Cowboys are slipping. I smell a blowout here as McNabb spreads the ball around and confuses the Cowboys D. We might even see some snowballs from the stands!

Eagles 23 – Cowboys 13

Seattle (+1½) at Minnesota: Minnesota is holding on for dear life and can count their blessings that they play the Seahawks at home. Seattle is a totally different team away from the friendly confines of Seahawks Stadium - they stink.

Vikings 28 – Seahawks 24

Tampa Bay (+1½) at New Orleans: The Saints need a win to stay in the wildcard hunt. They won’t get it. The Bucs will step up this week and play D for a change this year.

Bucs 19 – Saints 13

Arizona (+10) at San Francisco: The Niners have been horrid lately, but the Cards haven’t been much better. I’ll take the Niners since they have a lot more talent and home-field advantage. Emmitt who?

Niners 27 – Cardinals 20

N.Y. Jets (+3) at Buffalo: This should be a tough, grinding game. The Bills play very good defense and run the ball well. The Jets move the ball mostly through the air these days. In a hard-fought game, I think the Jets win as they are starting to play to their expectations of the preseason.

Jets 23 – Bills 17

Miami (+3) at New England: This is always a great game, and both teams are playing well right now. The Patriots have made a habit out of ruining the Dolphins season in the past few years and I think they’ll strike another blow here. Expect a blood bath.

Pats 24 – Dolphins 20

Kansas City (+2½) at Denver: Another great rivalry, this one should also be fun to watch. KC has been nearly unstoppable, but the Broncos are very tough at home and really need a win here.

Broncos 30 – Chiefs 27

Carolina (-1) at Atlanta: The return of Michael Vick will make the Falcons a much different team. The Panthers, though, will not lose 3 in a row.

Panthers 20 – Falcons 17

St. Louis (-4) at Cleveland: Only 4 points? Come on, I know the Browns are at home, but the Rams are a much better team. The line scares me, but I have to take the Rams on MNF.

Rams 33 – Browns 27

Enjoy the games! Vegas Hags last week:
