Stabbing Suspect Arrested Police have made an arrest in the stabbing death of a Burlington Township woman and they didn't have to go far -- they arrested her neighbor, 25-year-old Brian Jenkins.

Mary Hinson was a civilian employee at Fort Dix, but Thursday co-workers became worried when she didn't show up for work. They went to her Burlington Township condo with police and found the 59-year-old dead on her kitchen floor. She had been stabbed numerous times.

Police said they believe Hinson opened the door for Jenkins and he allegedly tried to rob her, stabbing her in the process.

Jenkins is being held on $350,000 bail.

The one thing everyone knew about Mary Hinson was that she went to church every Sunday.

"She was a good person. I mean, I think the last time I seen her was on grandfather's birthday. I gave her a kiss hello and that was the last time I saw her," Robert More, Hinson's nephew, tearfully told NBC 10.

More called Hinson "Aunt Macy." She was the divorced mother of two grown daughters and she lived alone.

The Rev. Frederick Johnson said that Hinson had been an active member of his church for nearly 40 years, and that she turned to her faith when her teenage son accidentally drowned in the Delaware River years ago.

"We just couldn't believe it. Nobody could believe it. This seems to be a crime of passion. Someone personally involved, or something, with her. I just couldn't understand someone brutalizing her like this," Johnson said.
