Two Movies to Shoot in SJ

Joey Travolta (John's brother), actor Leo Rossi, and fellow actor Al Sapienza of "The Sopranos" were in town to talk about making movies in and around the capitol city.
"(I was) a kid who was born at St. Francis Hospital, Hamilton Avenue. I used to have pork roll sandwiches -- one is still lodged (in my chest) from 1961," Rossi said.
For more than a year, actors from New Jersey like Rossi, Paul Sorvino and Valerie Harper have been pushing to make films in New Jersey with Trenton as the epicenter.
"You have everything -- you have mountains, you have the beach, you have planes, you have inner cities. The streets of Trenton and Newark could double for almost anywhere," said Sapienza.
Another plus to making movies in New Jersey is that it costs a lot less than making a movie in Hollywood.
Rossi wants to start filming "My Cousin Mimo" in Trenton at the end of the summer. The movie tells the story of two cousins -- a postman and a butcher -- who discover that their cousin in Italy is a Don in the Sicilian Mafia and, in comic fashion, try to take advantage of that relationship.
Travolta announced the shooting of a motion picture tentatively titled "Camp La Costa Nostra" in Hamilton, N.J., also at the end of the summer.
The story centers on several retired mobsters who decide to start a summer camp for kids who want to be mobsters.
