NJ Cracks Down on Aggressive Drivers The state of New Jersey is cracking down on aggressive drivers.

The big public campaign follows a deadly Memorial Day weekend on the highways.

Signs encouraging drivers to dial #77 on their cell phones when they see aggressive drivers are popping up all over South Jersey, especially on the roads to and from the Jersey shore.

The New Jersey Department of Transportation has taken the action to protect people from drivers who weave in and out of traffic, speed and tailgate.

Permanent signs and electronic signs have been posted to give drivers the option of reporting dangerous situations before they turn deadly.

Authorities said that the new signs are already making a huge difference. They have a lot more calls flooding into their operation centers.

If you see an aggressive driver, experts say you should try to get the license plate number or a description of the driver and car. You should also try to note the mile marker near where you saw the dangerous driver so they can send the nearest police officer to take care of the problem.

Also, don't forget to leave your name and number so police can get back to you if the reported driver gets into an accident further down the road.
