Camden Officer Kills Suspect

The suspect was identified as Corey Graham, 33, of Camden. Police said the officer was Kenyetta Kelly, 32, a seven-year-veteran of the Camden Police Department.
Police said they responded to a report of a burglary in the 1300 block of Morton Street at about 4:30 a.m. The homeowner said two men had tried to break into his home and fled by the time police arrived.
Witnesses told police that the suspects had entered a nearby apartment complex. The officers stopped a man dressed in black clothing. They said the man fled on foot as he was being questioned
Police said Kelly caught up with the man and struggled with him before the burglar pointed a .44-caliber revolver at the officer.
Kelly drew his gun and ordered the suspect to drop the weapon three times before he fired two shots, striking the suspect in the torso, police said.
An autopsy was expected to be performed Sunday or Monday.
Authorities said they recovered the suspect's gun from the scene.
Kelly has been placed on administrative leave during the investigation of the shooting.
