Executive Q&A: Set Apart from the Rest

There are many positives to doing business in South Jersey—its great location and proximity to major cities, the highest quality of health care, sense of community—the list goes on. It’s no secret this area is not only a great place to do business, but companies thrive. Of course, everyone has their own opinion, so we decided to ask local executives: What about the South Jersey business community sets it apart from other places?

Simone Bryerman, President, Proshred Southern New Jersey & Delaware
“South Jersey is a great area for business. While much is due to logistics, proximity to Philadelphia and access to transport, it is the sense of community that underpins its success. Thriving chambers of commerce, the family-style values inherited from Italian and similar roots are the underpinning of relationships that form and promote achievement in business. People want to do business locally. I am always heartened that the business community here looks for local companies rather than the nationals to supply their needs. Add in the local colleges and trade schools that are providing training resources at all levels and the resulting mix encourages companies to stay and operate locally.”

Jared Cobert, Managing Partner, Diligence Capital Advisors, LLC
“What sets the South Jersey business community apart is its harmonious blend of diverse, small businesses flourishing in tight-knit fashion. Many of these businesses are handed down through the same families generation by generation. When my employees, my family and I go to local events, whether they be big high school football games of rival neighboring towns or street fairs and open air farmers markets, we feel the connectivity. Everyone knows everyone in this community but people respect privacy and confidentiality. As a result, a lot of productive deals get done and business contacts blossom into long-lasting friendships. All of this activity is set to the backdrop of beautiful and charming towns that have a true ‘main and main’ feel.”

Deanna Robinson, CEO, Social Impression
“South Jersey is pride, diversity and history. Bundle those things up with passion and hustle, and we are continually producing new ways to grow. Here we’re all about our neighborhoods and coming together to make them the best that they can be. Each neighborhood has a sense of individuality, but each is vital to the entire makeup of South Jersey. Behind each smaller community are individuals who genuinely care about where they live. They work to bring in more resources, conveniences and opportunities, and in turn, are keeping business local— which is producing jobs, and helping our communities to blossom. We all have the same goal—to build each other up to build up our community.”
