Combating Mosquito Breeding Areas

Freeholder Laurelle A. Cummings said the Camden County Division of Environmental Affairs is spearheading the effort in conjunction with the Camden County Health and Human Services Department, the county Mosquito Control Commission and public works departments throughout the county's 37 municipalities.
"The Used Tire Roundup will be scheduled for municipalities in six county areas through early November," said Freeholder Cummings, a member of the Mosquito Control Commission. She stressed that "because the collection methods vary from town to town, residents must call their local public works department to learn whether there will be curbside pickups or designated drop-off sites for their old tires."
The dates and areas scheduled for the Used Tire Roundup are as follow:
Sept. 17 through Sept. 28: Cherry Hill, Collingswood, Haddonfield, Haddon Township, Merchantville, Pennsauken, Tavistock and Woodlynne.
Sept. 24 through Oct. 5: Audubon, Audubon Park, Barrington, Bellmawr, Brooklawn, Gloucester City, Haddon Heights, Lawnside, Mt. Ephraim, Oaklyn and Runnemede.
Oct. 1 through Oct. 12: Gloucester Township, Hi-Nella, Laurel Springs, Magnolia, Somerdale and Stratford.
Oct. 8 through Oct. 19: Chesilhurst, Waterford and Winslow.
Oct. 15 through Oct. 26: Berlin Borough, Berlin Township, Clementon, Gibbsboro, Lindenwold, Pine Hill, Pine Valley and Voorhees.
