Howard Eskin`s License Suspended
VOORHEES, NJ: A municipal judge suspended the New Jersey driving privileges of Howard Eskin, a well-known Philadelphia radio host and television sports anchor, for 60 days. Eskin, 51, lives in Delaware County, Pa., and is licensed to drive in that state. Voorhees police cited Eskin on May 14 for driving 100 mph in a 40 mph zone on Haddonfield-Berlin Road. He could have faced 15 days in jail if convicted.
Under an agreement reached with the municipal prosecutor, Eskin pleaded guilty Tuesday to a lesser violation and was fined $180 in addition to the suspension.
According to The Philadelphia Inquirer, Eskin told police he was late for an 11:30 a.m. news conference at the Philadelphia Flyers hockey club's practice facility here. The time on the ticket was 11:38 a.m.
Eskin, well known for his abrasive radio personality, promised to "bury the prosecutor," Michael Greenblatt, on his radio show, claiming Greenblatt was "showboating" through a "long and drawn-out explanation" of the offense in court.
Greenblatt said Eskin was treated like anyone else facing a suspension.
Eskin works for WIP-AM and WCAU-TV, Philadelphia's NBC affiliate.
