New Revelations in Szumski Case

New Revelations in Szumski Case Burlington County authorities want to talk to a woman who was seen at a man`s home the night before he overdosed and nearly two months after his wife disappeared. The woman was seen at Thomas Szumski`s home Tuesday night, hours before he was found dead in his bed, Burlington County Prosecutor Robert Bernardi said. Szumski`s wife, Kimberly, reportedly left the home to go jogging nearly two months ago and has not been seen since.

An autopsy report released Friday by the Burlington County medical examiner said Thomas Szumski`s death appeared to be accidental caused by self-injected heroin.

On Tuesday, Thomas Szumski left his children with a neighbor. The neighbor took 6-year-old Luke and 4-year-old Olivia to the shore. Szumski picked the children up at the neighbor`s house around 10 p.m.

It was also around that time that the woman was seen at the family`s home, and authorities want to talk to her. "We don`t know her specific relationship yet with Mr. Szumski," Bernardi said. He refused to release any other details about the woman.

Officials said this week they were also analyzing darkly stained carpet samples from the Szumski house. Bernardi would not speculate on what the stains might be and said it was unclear whether they were there when officials searched the house in May after Kimberly Szumski`s disappearance.
