BLACK BOTTOM BANANA BARS

1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup mashed ripe bananas
1 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 cup baking cocoa
1/2 cup walnuts, ground

In a large bowl cream the butter and sugar. Add the egg and vanilla. Beat thoroughly. Blend in the bananas. Combine flour, baking powder, soda and salt. Add to the creamed mixture. Add nuts. Divide the batter in half. Add cocoa to half and pour into a greased 13" x 9" x 2" pan. Spoon remaining batter on top and swirl. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until done. Cool. Cut into bars.
