A Look at the H.S. Girls Basketball Races
Last week we looked at the boys’ basketball conference races. Here is now how things stand in girls’ basketball.

BURLINGTON COUNTY SCHOLASTIC LEAGUE

Freedom Division

Bordentown has clinched the division with an 11-0 mark and one game left. Palmyra (10-2) has clinched second place.

Independence Division

Florence (5-1) has clinched at least a tie for the title and could win outright with a victory over either Kipp Norcross Academy or Willingboro.

Liberty Division

Cinnaminson went 6-0 to win the division.

Patriot Division UPDATE

Pennsauken and Delran were co-champs with 6-2 marks. The two teams split their regular season games. Delran clinched the tie with last week’s 54-36 win over Pemberton.

CAPE ATLANTIC LEAGUE

American Division

Middle Township (10-2) clinched the division title, one game ahead of Egg Harbor Township (9-3).

National Division

Hammonton (11-1) won the division title.

United Division

Cedar Creek (11-1) is the division champion.

COLONIAL CONFERNCE

Liberty Division

Haddon Heights (9-1) won a very tight race over Haddon Township (8-2) and Haddonfield (7-3). The only Liberty team to beat Haddon Heights was Haddon Township. The two teams split two close games.

Patriot Division

Just as what happened in the Liberty Division, this was a similar tight race. Audubon (9-1) is the champion followed by Gateway (8-2) and Collingswood (7-3). Audubon and Gateway split, with the champion Green Wave winning the second matchup, 37-25.

OLYMPIC CONFERENCE

American Division

Lenape (8-0) was the conference champion ahead of Cherokee (5-3) and Eastern (5-3).

National Division

South Jersey’s No. 1 team Paul VI went 6-0 to win the title.

Patriot Division

Moorestown (7-1) earned the championship, with Cherry Hill West (6-2) in second place. West was the only division team to beat Moorestown, as the teams split their two regular season meetings.

TRI-COUNTY CONFERENCE

Classic Division

Wildwood (8-0) was the runaway winner, with Clayton (5-3) and Salem (5-3) tying for second place.

Diamond Division

Glassboro (9-1) and Pennsville were co-champions. The teams split their regular season meetings.

Liberty Division

Triton (8-2) won a really tight race, edging both Delsea (7-3) and Timber Creek (7-3) by one game. The champion Mustangs clinched the title with a 44-42 win over Timber Creek in their final division game. Triton won in dramatic fashion. Trailing by 12 points entering the fourth quarter, the Mustangs then outscored Timber Creek, 23-9 fourth quarter to earn the comeback win and title. Gianna Loftis scored 12 points for the winning Mustangs.

Royal Division

Gloucester, Catholic, one of the top teams in South Jersey, won easily with a 10-0 mark. Clearview (7-3) finished second. The Rams’ only two losses to South Jersey teams have both been to Paul VI, the most recent one, a 57-55 double overtime defeat to the Eagles in the South Jersey Basketball Invitational Tournament championship.
