Vegas Hags Pigskin Picks

by Vegas Hags | Oct 5, 2003
Vegas Hags Pigskin Picks I guess all is well in Birdland, as the Eagles finally got a W. Can someone please explain to me why it took big Andy so long to figure out that you need a little balance (run the ball!) to win? It was also good to see McNabb realize he isn’t Joe Montana. Since he’s not the most accurate passer in the world, a little scrambling can really loosen up the defense. Will they revert back to their pass first, pass second pass third and punt ways this week against the Skins? Dare say, will we have a grind it out, run first game between Spurrier and Reid? For all the answers and the rest of this week’s predictions, come inside…

Oakland (-4) at Chicago
Wow, do Da Bears ever suck! The Raiders are getting old fast, and this point spread is trying to tell us something, but I’m not listening.
Raiders 28 – Bears 23

Arizona (+7) at Dallas
Emmit Returns to Dallas wearing Cardinal red? That just doesn’t seem right. The only team as bad as the Bears right now is the Cards, and the Tuna has the Cowboys winning the games they should.
Cowboys 20 – Cards 17

Miami (even) at N.Y. Giants
Tough game, but as much as I hate to pick the G-men I’ll stick with the home team here.
Giants 23 – Dolphins 21

Minnesota (-4) at Atlanta
The Falcons have been ugly and the Vikes have been awesome. This looks like a trap game, but without Vick, I can’t see the Falcons pulling this one out.
Vikings 27 – Falcons 24

Seattle (+2) at Green Bay
Holmgren has the Hawks playing well, but the Pack is in vaunted Lambeau Field. I like Mike here to beat his old team in their own house.
Seahawks 26 – Packers 22

Denver (+3½) at Kansas City
This should be a wild one. Plummer still stinks, but he has some weapons now. With Portis being banged up, I side with Priest and the Chiefs.
Chiefs 30 – Broncos 27

Cincinnati (+8) at Buffalo
No Dillon, no defense, no chance.
Bills 20 – Bengals 13

New Orleans (+6½) at Carolina
I think they are the Aints again. I can’t see the Saints putting up any O on this D.
Panthers 17 – Saints 13

Tennessee (-1) at New England
Another great game, the Pats are tough at home and the Titans are coming off of an emotional win against a division rival. That being said, I’m not sure New England can keep up with Air McNair and Co.
Titans 24 – Patriots 21

San Diego (+3) at Jacksonville
I forgot. These two teams are as bad as the Bears, too.
Chargers 20 – Jaguars 19

Detroit (+7) at San Francisco
Mooch returns to San Fran as gets his butt kicked.
Niners 31 – Lions, Tigers and Bears 20

Washington (+5) at Philadelphia
The Redskins are over rated and the Eagles are out for blood. Look for a lot of trick plays from Reid and a lot of turnovers from the Skins. You’ll also see lots of eye rolling and grimacing from Spurrier. Back to .500 for the home team.
Eagles 33 – Redskins 23

Cleveland (+7) at Pittsburgh
This is a good, old fashioned, blue-collar rivalry. Go with the home team (and the better team) in a close one.
Steelers 20 – Browns 17

Indianapolis (+4½) at Tampa Bay
Tony Dungy returns to the town that booted him after he couldn’t win in the playoffs. His old team just happens to be the reigning Super Bowl champions, too. Do you think he’ll be motivated for this one? That being said, being motivated never won him a big game before. It won’t start working now, either.
Bucs 24 – Colts 20

Vegas Hags last week:
Against the spread: 7-6
Straight up: 9-4

Vegas Hags record to date:
Against the spread: 27-30
Straight up: 41-16
